Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel laureate and women’s rights campaigner, has got married.

Ms Yousafzai posted on her Instagram account that she had married partner Asser Malik on Tuesday.
The Oxford graduate said: “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life.
“We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families.
“Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”
In a profile with Vogue, Ms Yousafzai said she was not sure if she would get married.
She said: “I still don’t understand why people have to get married.
“If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”
After being shot by the Taliban, the then 15-year-old ended up being treated in Birmingham.
She then attended Edgbaston High School, before going on to study politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford – completing her degree last year.
In 2014 she became the youngest individual to ever be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
She has set up the Malala Fund, which aims to support the education of women and girls around the world.
