Two dead after fire at working men’s club

Two people have died after a fire at a working men’s club in Morecambe, say Lancashire Police.
The men were rescued from the blaze at the Gordon Working Men’s Club but died shortly after.
Emergency services, including 10 fire engines, were called to the scene on Springfield Street at about 2.45pm.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was on the ground floor and firefighters entered the building with equipment including thermal imaging cameras.
The men were pulled out at 3.07pm.
Police said they were in the process of contacting the victims’ families.
An investigation into the fire has begun and police want to speak to any witnesses.
Firefighters will remain at the scene overnight.
